Since casino enthusiasts begun playing stud poker, more casino goers showed more interest with the variants under this type of poker game. Among the popular variations of this poker include 7 card stud poker, 5 card stud poker and razz stud poker, among others.

But for the past years, 5 card stud poker has not been included by many tournament organizers. However, records reveal that this did not affect some players who still opted to play the game, especially the beginners of stud poker.

During the1990s, many 5 card stud poker tournaments were conducted mostly within North America and Europe. This kind of stud poker is said to be one of the highly anticipated events in the famous World Series of Poker. However, as time goes by, as more poker games were introduced, some players have chose to try other variants of stud poker games such as the 7 card stud poker. Now, 5 card stud poker are just played among online casinos and not among famous tournaments on poker.

Meanwhile, the 5 card stud poker game is still considered as one of the easiest forms of stud poker among the other variants. Many starters tend to learn this type before they try to learn other stud poker variations.
